Black castle – ring

Ring made especially for the GemGeneve 2023 exhibition in Geneva, Switzerland. The crystal dome in the center of the castle is made of a natural piece of amethyst of extraordinary beauty and purity. In its structure there are inclusions (probably iron oxides) and fragments that split the light into a rainbow visible inside the crystal. The turrets of the castle are made of Ethiopian opals.  

When I tell a story about this ring, I make a joke, that during my trip exploring the castle of Lower Silesia, I noticed 4 things, that make a building a castle: the presence of a tower, a bridge, a fountain (the amethyst ball at the end of the bridge) and a cat. The black cat is on the bottom side of the ring.
