Hephaestus – silver button from the series “Gods of Olympus”
Hephaestus – Greek god of goldsmiths, blacksmiths and fire, and his wife is the goddess of love Aphrodite. According to legend, he was thrown from Olympus by his mother Hera, because he was small and ugly. Since that accident, he was limping on one leg. He worked in a forge inside the Etna volcano. Hephaestus made the shield, scepter and thunderbolts for Zeus, armor for Achilles and arrows for Eros.
Hephaestus’ attributes are a hammer and an anvil.
His crown is in the shape of a headband, protecting the eyes from sweat and falling hair, tied in a bun. Garnets are placed in the headband – minerals formed in volcanic rocks.

Gods of Olympus
In Greek mythology, the gods who ruled the world and human life lived on top of Mount Olympus. There were 12 of them: Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Hermes, Hephaestus, Athena, Ares, Artemis, Apollo, Aphrodite, Demeter, Hades. They were the inspiration for creating 12 buttons decorated with appropriate stones corresponding with a certain god.
