Pacific Parrotlet birds – necklace

These birds have a special place in my heart. Except for their adorable shape, the always smiling look, wonderful chirping and colours, they are also very affectionate, smart and loving. One day I found beautiful photos of parrots by “Freya Ever After”  https://www.instagram.com/freyaeverafter_/ which led to some sketches, that I made. That reminded me why I love those birds so much. I wanted to make a tiny necklace with them. My parrots are made of silver with gold-plated beaks and claws. Under the branch, they also have an amazing piece of an Australian opal (which I crushed out from the rock myself) with a very strong internal “fire”. They are composed on a string of emeralds, citrines and a few sapphires. Threading the string took me 4 hours, intentionally, so that the colours’ composition would remind the parrots’ feathers.
