I got the catalogue from the 16th International Silver Accessories Contest 2019 exhibition in Japan. It was held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre. The exhibition showed 335 pieces from all over the world. More than 2200 people visited it during only 7 days. I am very happy that 2 of my pieces got to be exhibited there. One of them is the Aquarium ring. The other one is the “Opal in iris flowers” ring.
And here are a few close-ups of the Aquarium ring:
Silver ring with a hand-made glass bulb inside which swim silver fish like in a tropical tank with coral reef. On the top of the ring is a cat, which is hunting the fish. Both the cat and the fish hold onto the glass bulb thanks to attached magnets, they can move around the bulb as long as there is a colorful magnet ball holding it on the other side. The cat can even spin around and be de-attached from the bulb.
The inside of the ring is colour-coated. All other elements are made of silicone and are meant to resemble coral reef.
Opal in iris flowers
Silver ring with a large, naturally cracked Ethiopian opal around which grow out iris flowers. The inside of the flowers are adorned with natural amethyst’s crystals, one of which is a flower bud. The petals are gold-plated. The ring is a hollow, see-through construction adorned with small synthetic amethysts.
