It’s November and at this time of year I always tend to reminiscent one of the highlights that happened to me in my life. This memory is extra valuable to me, because it happened right before my birthday. In November 2014, 7 years ago, I was awarded the Art Scholarship of the Krakow City. It is awarded to “the most gifted Krakow artists under 30 y.o.”. I wasn’t quite aware what an honor it was, until I met other winners – they were architects (Justyna Kolarz-Piotrowicz), famous genius composers (Franciszek Araszkiewicz), pianists (Piotr Orzechowski) and world-famous masters of other instruments (Barbara Borowicz – clarinet, Stanisław Słowiński – violin), writers (Joanna Bąk, Andrzej Muszyński, Szymon Słomczyński), dancers (Julia Hałka), theater directors (Elżbieta Depta), graphics (Marlena Biczak, Anna Juszczak), painters (Martyna Borowiecka), art promoters (Aleksander Włodyka ) and me – a little raisin taken out from a completely different cake, was not from the Academy of Fine Arts or the Music Academy, emerged from nowwhere. Nevertheless, my work was appreciated, someone believed in me. Until this day this memory warms up my heart and I will always be grateful to the Krakow City and the Scholarship’s Committee for this amazing award. Since then, I have developed greatly, my works have been shown several times in National Museums in China, I was awarded the title of a finalist of one the world’s biggest jewellery contest: Saul Bell Design Award, I was invited as a lecturer to the Sydney Art School in Australia, I was invited as a special guest to a nature-related art festival “Heart of France” as the representant of Poland. At the same time I would like to add, that the path I am walking is not easy. But I’m working hard to improve myself and my skills and I am waiting patiently to see where this road will take me:)
