Apollo – silver button of the “Gods of Olympus” series

Apollo was the Greek god of music and poetry, fortune tellers, healing, inspiration, guardian of the arts, lord of the sun, beauty, life, and at the same time – sudden death.

His playing of the zither and lyre was considered the most beautiful among the gods. Apollo is a tall and beautiful deity, with delicate beauty. Right after birth, he received a chariot drawn by swans from his father, Zeus. His other attributes were a bow and arrows as well as a flute and a lyre, received from his brother Hermes. His companions were 9 Muses.

On his forehead in the crown is placed a blue sapphire – a stone with which he is associated and which was supposed to help in receiving visions from Apollo.

Gods of Olympus

In Greek mythology, the gods who ruled the world and human life lived on top of Mount Olympus. There were 12 of them: Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Hermes, Hephaestus, Athena, Ares, Artemis, Apollo, Aphrodite, Demeter, Hades. They were the inspiration for creating 12 buttons decorated with appropriate stones corresponding with a certain god.
