Evening Star – silver brooch

Brooch inspired by Alfons Mucha’s painting “The Evening Star”. The center of the piece is a star ruby, that plays a part of the “star”. It is a rare kind of ruby, that shows a phenomenon of asterism-exhibit of a luminous star-like shape when cut en cabochon. Such star can be noticed, when the stone is observed perpendicularly and its center moves around the stone, when the stone is being moved itself. The Goddes’ hair is decorated with a garnet and the bottom of the brooch is adorned with a large, faceted tourmaline.
