Khepri – Scarab Goddes

Khepri is a scarab-faced god in ancient Egyptian religion who represents the rising or morning sun, rebirth and the mythical creation of the world. This god is usually depicted by a scarab beetle, appears only on a few paintings as a human male. But since this god most of all represents creation and the renewal of life, I think it is appropriate for me to show it as a female.

My Khepri is made of silver, adorned with mother of pearls (Paua Shell). She is part beetle- part woman. Her face is adorned with synthetic rubies and partly gold-plated. From the other side the beetle’s belly is made with a labradorite, adorned with 2 natural rubies and 3 white zironias.

The wings are partly gold-plated and accented with chemical colouring.

It is a brooch/pendant.
