Lady Rain
The time from January 2023 was a very rainy period in Poland.I really like rain because its sound relaxes me and calms me down.So I asked myself what a personification of rain would look like.I started by building a filigree body of a fish, which “underneath” has a face with a delicate, calm smile. She looks as if she is floating lightly in the air, relaxed, flying between the raindrops also falling on her body.At the end of her tail is the most magnificent raindrop. On the other side of her body 3 small rubies are set. When I finished the piece, I suddenly noticed that it looked like an elegant version of teru-teru-bōzu – the Japanese “rain doll”.In Japan, it is made of paper and hung in the window to evoke good weather or rain.
When the necklace is moved, all the elements gently clink, sounding just like the real rain.
The piece was showcased during an exhibition in the Distrcit Museum in Toruń, Poland (2023) and during GemGeneve in Geneva, Switzerland (2023).
