Roe Deer Spring – ring

Roe deers are animals surrounded by rich symbolism. They are primarily associated with grace, gentleness and agility. In the mythology of North American cultures, the roe deer is often seen as a guide showing the way to new beginnings. It is seen as a link between the physical and spiritual worlds. The deer is also a symbol of peace, harmony and compassion. According to a certain Chinese legend, the first deer appeared on earth after the great flood. They were so moved by the suffering of men that they decided to stay to guide people back to the path of righteousness.

The roe deer ring was created, and almost “built itself”, directing thoughts towards the spring – energy, inspiration, a new beginning. This spring in the ring is an Australian opal, which I myself  found in Australia, cut and polished. Its internal play of layers, veins and lights draws like the depths of water, evoking associations with a lake. Under each of the 4 prongs holding the stone there are sapphires: blue, yellow, pink and green (4 directions). On one side of the “lake” there is a fragment of opal with a particularly intense light and vivid flashes. A legend  says that opal is like a “child of the gods”, because it contains all the colors of precious (perceived as magical). It has the potential to become whoever it wants, but it simply has not decided yet. So I placed the stone on one side of the ring like a beacon, to indicate the side on which the owner wants to focus – on the innerworld or on goals directed outward. On the bottom of the ring there is an emerald, tying the ring together, showing that each side is equally important. The ring is engraved with decorative patterns on the inside.

The roe deer are covered with 24k gold flakes using the old-Korean keum-boo technique, which uses the properties of gold to melt with silver under special conditions, without soldering.
