Swallow – sister of the storm – brooch/pendant

The work is inspired by the numerous storms that took place this summer. According to Polish sayings, the harbinger of the coming storm is a swallow. The activity of these birds increases significantly just before the storm. They fly in swarms and hunt insects. Then they suddenly disappear. In my work, swallows create a cloud from which lightning shoots. It is guided through a black coral (decorated with a small yellow sapphire). It goes to the Ethiopian opal with an unusual intensity of the play of light inside. It looks as if there are sparkling lightning bolts inside.

Swallow for me is an extraordinary bird, with acrobatic abilities and a fearless spirit. For me, it is a symbol of strength, independence and courage hidden in a seemingly fragile being. That is why the text by Stan Boris, “Swallow trapped”, accompanied me constantly while creating this brooch / pendant.
