Silver Art Festival in Legnica

Each year Legnica (Poland) hosts the „Silver Festival”, which main event is the goldsmithing contest. It’s contemporary art contest, expressd through small sculptures created with goldsmithing skills. I think this is the most aproppriate description. I took part in it 3 times already (as it is sort of a tradition) and although I have never had any bigger success in this field, at least my works qualified for a special exhibition „Holownia” – it’s a group of works that did not qualify for the main contest exhibition, but they were selected for an accompanying exhibition. This year the main theme was „Silver”.

The name of my work is „Transformation”.

It consists of all the dirt and silver dust from my workbench, which I melted in my kiln. That gave it a marvellous porous structure. From it emerges, already transformed, silver butterfly.
