Fairy-tale chess set

The chess composition resembles a scene from a battle between 2 fairy kingdoms. The white army is led by a king with bird wings and a queen, who controls the power of water (drops of amber rain falling from her staff). Their helpers are: the bishop (pagan, masked priests), the knights (riders of the butterflies emerging from flowers) and the rooks (trees with amber masks). The pawns are “mud golems” magically created as the “cannon fodder”. The white army is made of gold plated silver, bronze and amber.

Black army is led by a bat winged king and a queen controlling the power of fire. Their helpers are: pagan priests, riders of the beetles attacking from mushrooms (knights) and black Ents (rooks) and the black mud golems. Black army is made of oxidized silver, bronze, amber and garnets.

The chessboard is made of plexiglass, hand-carved and adorned with garnets and zirconias.
